Guess I’ll work backwards. After 20 years in Northern California, my husband Jerry Hinshaw and I recently moved back to Baltimore, living downtown in a beautiful townhouse with great views of 4th of July and New Year’s fireworks from the rooftop deck. And yes, it has a guest room.
I took a buyout from UCSF Medical Center where I was the news director. At my age finding another job was slim to none so I retired from paid work and became active in animal rescue along with work I was already doing in HIV-related causes, including bicycling seven times from San Francisco to Los Angeles to raise funds for the San Francisco AIDS Foundation and crewing twice for the first HIV positive team to compete in Race Across America (RAAM).
Here in Baltimore I spend a lot of time at the animal shelter. I also remodeled my kitchen and continue my love of baking.
Before the reunion, I’m heading out to Northern California to take my fourth wine class at the Culinary Institute of America in Napa. I promise to bring samples.
